Economic equity is our goal. Not only equal pay for equal work, but equal opportunities for advancement and equal value for work that requires comparable skills. Economic equity means women should control as much wealth as men, and we are far from that. It means women who are primary or co-primary family breadwinners need an adequate income including savings. It means that when money is power, women need enough to stand their ground. It also means a fair economic chance for all, regardless of personal characteristics.
